Beautiful!
my two cents...
thanks
Wonder how the acoustics is. Any writeup?
Bill
Not sure how a computer is going to mimic a typical human ear when figuring-out hall acoustics.
The guy responsible for the acoustics also did the Walt Disney Concert Hall which is supposed to be quite useable.
That would be a good thing. I've been to the Disney and it is up there with Symphony Hall, Concertgebouw and Berliner Philharmonie for the halls that I have visited. Hamburg, will have to check it out although I seem to spend less time visiting Europe versus Asia these days.
The acoustician responsible was Yasuhisa Toyota of Nagata Acoustics who over the years has done 50 similar projects and is considered one of the two best for the job, the other one being Frederick Russell Johnson of Artec Consultants.

the Hamburger budget ballooned into filet mignon territory. :)
the proof is in the listening. I remember all too well when Carnegie Hall in New York was improved with the help of Isaac Stern....the sound was ruined.
re Carnegie changes
Sorry, I like the renovated hall better, at least after they removed the concrete slab under the stage. It has far better balance than before. The only thing the "new" hall doesn't do is absorb any orchestral volume. Before, orchestras could give it their all, and the hall absorbed the sound in a warm cushiness. Now, they can play too loud for the hall... so... don't do that. Having been there dozens of times before the renovation, and hundreds of times since, I wouldn't go back to the old hall for anything. YMMV.

I wonder why they recorded in Carnegie quite regularly...not so after reno.
.
Wonder if they will be doing any recording there?
Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.
...just came across this.
I don't think they know what that word means.
Those zany Germans!
Love the different music groups and SoundCloud files on that page...:)
Wish we could have one of these in Yorkshire.
