Of those 7,924,588 posts, I am happy to take full credit for 34,610 of them! And I got in a couple years late.
Be interesting to know what percentage of visitors contributed what percentage of posts. Guessing a handful of inmates (some sadly deceased) likely were responsible for a lot of the bandwidth consumed here.
Never had much interest in logging on with either a cell phone or iPad and, like many of the old-timers here, I prefer the 'classic' format, the lack of which finally saved my life when the old 'Outside' was kicked 'outside'. Never could follow what was going on using the new interface over at the 'green door' is it?.
A blessing, to be sure.
Perhaps with more modern tools like phones and tablets being used to visit this space, the average age might come down a bit? That would be a good thing.
Just please don't eliminate the 'classic' format. I'd hate to have to crawl back and beg for re-admittance to 'Audio Roundtable' after all of these years. Especially after using 'F-U-Parham' as my original password!
Follow Ups:
The primary change will be the menus which we're struggling to keep as close as possible to the current system where everything is a click away. The current Classic mode uses an html caching of the data making it a bit difficult to modify easily due to the different tags used in a responsive code base.
Therefore, the beta development is oriented on using the Threads view which is already a generated program using cached elements, so it's very fast and yet has the ability to sort the threads to either look just like the existing Classic view or to sort threads based on the last updated to bring the most recently active topics to the top.
Another feature is that the Thread view tracks read posts, so people that use a computer and a tablet can easily see what they're already read on either system.
Anyway, nothing is written in stone, but if you haven't looked at the Tread View in a while, here's a link:

I much prefer the Classic format. Still using Windows XT here.
"Windows XT"
Do you mean "NT"?
I have a PC which is still running NT 4 Server. Works like a champ. I use it for my word processing and spreadsheet needs. It's got a Pentium 133 processor and a whopping 128 MB of memory.
:)
Nope, typo. Windows XP
Not that you'd care, but...
I've got an NT 4 Server, three XP, and a 7.
Happy New Year to you!
:)
