Hi Par,
You have gone above and beyond the call of duty for being helpful. The only other thing you could do is grab the next SST, fly over to Maine and go over to the mall with me and check out Best Buy. Warning, it's pretty bright and noisy.
I wish the rest of you guys could come too. I know you all know more than anyone working there. Without listing all your names as I did Par's, thanks for all the advise.
I am going to Best Buy today and see if there are any Blu-Rays with RCA audio out jacks. Sony might have one as my computer search says....will see. Thanks again guys...Mark Korda.....I'll be back later with my findings.
Hi,
I'm sorry for wasting a lot of your time people but your efforts boosted mine and I think I have the answer.
My computer expert brother missed this and it threw me off. There is a external optical output on my older Samsung tv. My brother missed this and I found out on a Google search where it was and if it was an input or output. It turned out to be a output.
There is a gadget I found on the net that will solve my problem. The Fiio D03K for 27 bucks. Its about the size of a pack of cigarettes and has optical inputs to left and right RCA jacks. It has a wide and low distortion band width. I found it at Parts Express.
I started to drive out to the mall yesterday but remembered the Xmas traffic jams and turned back. I still am interested in hearing You Tube right from the Blu Ray and maybe might bite for an Oppo but I can't justify getting rid of something that is working fine.
My Xmas present is your efforts to help me out and thats a real nice gift. I'll write back when I get this sucker hooked up. Thanks again and sorry for my error...Mark Korda
