Hi guys,
What is the correct way to connect a pair of REL Storm subs to Manley tube monos (unbalanced high-level)? Connect Neutrik's red AND yellow to one amp's (+), with black to amp's (-)? Or, connect only red OR yellow to amp's (+) with black to amp's (-)?
Thank you!

This is from the REL ST III Series Manual.
Quote:
To connect to MONO BLOCK power amplifiers using the high level Neutrik UNBALANCED input
To engage the Neutrik Speakon plug, insert fully into socket and rotate clockwise until locked.
To remove the Neutrik Speakon plug, grip body of plug, place thumb on chrome lever, move lever backwards rotate plug anti-clockwise (counter-clockwise in the US) quarter turn and withdraw.
High Level connections should be made to the same binding posts as the main speakers.
Connect as shown above. Connect RED to right monoblock speaker positive (red) terminal, connect YELLOW to left monoblock speaker positive (red) terminal. The BLACK should be connected to ground at the pre amplifier. If the pre amplifier does not have a dedicated ground terminal, then use one of the chassis screws at the rear of the pre amplifier.
NOTE:- MAKE SURE THAT ANY CHASSIS SCREW WHICH IS USED IS NOT CAPTURED ON THE INSIDE WITH A NUT, THE NUT COULD DROP INSIDE THE UNIT.
I believe the correct way is to use the red(+) and black (-) wires from the amp and leave the yellow off (cover the lead with tape or trim the end clean).
If you had a pair of monoblocks, then the yellow would go to positive of the other amp (or for a stereo amp the yellow would go to the positive of the other channel).
When using two channels (either two monoblocks or both channels of a stereo amp), you usually can connect to the unbalanced Neutrix but if your amps are balanced (such as the W4S D-class amps) then use the balanced Neutrix. Finally if you are using two balanced stereo amps (as I did when I was actively biamping my MG-IIIa), you need a special cable as the amps cannot share a common ground.
I married the perfect woman. The downside is everything that goes wrong is my fault.
