I need to connect speaker terminal output from my vintage audio to a USB input into my laptop. See atatched image of the speaker terminal connection. Audio output is powerd by the system I have.
What interface [special adapter(s) or cable(s)] will let me do this?
If this question is better posted to another forum, please tell me which one.

Hi, Asoyref,
Not sure if this is what you had in mind but a quick search on the web found these two possibilities:Scosche SLC4 Line Output Converter $20 - speaker connections to line-level RCAs
Behringer U-Control UCA222 USB Audio Interface $30 - simple RCA to USB ADC

This is far from trivial. The analog output of the amplifier shown would need to be digitized (via an analog-to-digital converter) in order for it to be conveyed by a USB connection.
There may be other options that are more practical but you would have to provide details of what system you have and what other connections are available on your laptop.
Also, what are you trying to accomplish with this?
Agreed some interface is needed thus my question to the forum. Laptop has only USB and microphone inputs. Audio system output is powered, goes to speakers now. Trying to capture audio from the rack legacy stereo system.
RCA to 1/8th inch mini stereo plug. Connect from stereos tape out to audio in on laptop. Open soundcard and change from mic in to line level in an adjust level. Forget USB. See link.

Another poster has suggested a combination that, logically, should work but there's no guarantee they will. Buy with a return option. Here is some assisting information.
