I've been using a Emotiva CMX-6 common mode AC line filter and power distribution system for about two years. The LED indicators stopped working about a year ago. The unit continues to function despite this fact. Emotiva wants me to spend $35. for a official Emotiva box if I wish to return it for repair. Not going to happen. I've removed the cover for a look see, nothing jumps out at me. Anyone out there who has the same unit with the same problem with a how to fix it solution?

Estat thanks for the input. BTW the $35. is for their official box not repair.
by their "official box". A replacement of what you already have (which is effectively repair) or exactly what?
Estat, if I want Emotiva to repair the unit I must purchase ($35.00) one of their own official boxes to return the unit to them. They will not except any other type of box. I no longer have the the box the unit came in. The unit is not supporting any critical audio equipment so I'm not overly worried about it. Thanks again.
No doubt Emotiva are trying to protect themselves from returned items that have been damaged in transit due to inadequate packing and the inevitable ensuing dispute.
The cost of packaging is not necessarily appreciated. Some larger items (speakers , power amplifiers etc.) come in big heavy duty, double walled corrugated board boxes with custom fitted foam interiors. These can be 100 + gbp even at cost price to the manufacturer. So I am just trying to put the $35 in perspective.
However as the item appears to retail at $119 then the cost of the packaging ( presumably plus cost of shippimg to you) , shipping of item and the repair itself would seem likely to make a return uneconomic. Replacement may be a better option if DIY repair (as per E-Stat's advice below - noting also the protection point that he makes) or other local repair is not possible.
now I understand what you mean. You didn't keep the original box.
I sold a Threshold Stasis amplifier last year I purchased new in 1981 including original box, packing material and manual. :)
is the MOVs in the unit give their life in service of protecting from a high voltage surge. The unit will function delivering AC, but no longer can sustain another direct hit. Much like a crush zone in a car's bumper.
If you are a DIYer, I would look into the unit and see if that is the case. MOVs are relatively inexpensive and should be easy to replace. If not, I suspect that Emotiva's charge is to do exactly the same thing.
If you value protection, I would follow through with one of those plans.
