GSquared....don't tell me you can tell the difference between the different Strads on your stereo...Can you also tell the brand strings on the instruments and the rosin that is used? ..maybe the DelJesus if you have a good stereo...but I doubt it...
I also got the Norah Jones album on vinyl and although the music and performance is good, the sound is about a D+. Too bad. I was told that the CD has much better sound....went to the library to get it, but there are 6 before me with a "hold". We'll see (hear)

Is the OP on this thread. I downloaded the HiRez and I like the music. Especially the last 5 tracks. The SQ is ok. Try Cold Cold Heat from her 1st album. Great SQ in my system from ripped CD.

For what it is worth, my impression is that the Stradivarius violins were a bit "sharper" and biting in the treble range whereas the G. Guarneri del Gesu violins were a bit more robust, with a somewhat deeper tone. I believe the book describes the difference between these two types of violins as well--I would trust the opinions of those experts over my own. I did try to guess which type of violin was being played when randomizing the tracks, and was accurate more than 50% of the time, but nothing to write home about. If I were to hear them play live, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be able to tell you which was which. I do find such comparisons very interesting.
I have the CD of the Nora Jones release, and think it sounds pretty good.
