Sonic holography only works if you fully understand it's design principles and implement them correctly. Many people just connect the equipment, engage the generator and think that's it, it's not.If you've ever read anything on the Polk SDA speakers and what they're trying to achieve then you have some idea. Sonic Holography works the same only with any speaker connected. Both systems have their limitations, IE you must sit "exactly" centered, and the speaker setup is absolutely critical in all of its domains. This is its greatest weakness, it's just not multiple listener friendly.
But when set up correctly it can be pretty amazing actually.

yep.
Congrats, King, Not many persons make the Polk SDA / Carver Sonic Holocaust connection, though the do the same thing. One electronically, the Polk thru clever design.
Too much is never enough
Ya, it's funny how many people who've either never read the white paper on Carver's Sonic Holography or just didn't understand it think it's nothing more than a stereo expander or ambience enhancer like found on many boom boxes or cheap all in one stereos.
I've been on other forums where members have their SH engaged all the time, even for background listening. Clearly someone that just doesn't understand it's principles and most likely hasn't demonstrated the diligence required for proper setup anyway.
