Now it wouldn't hurt to get them saying LPs, 45s, and, dare I hope beyond hope, 78s, my favorite of all.

Your point is well made ...I'm just very set in my ways.
I worked in an audio shop with a record section for years. When someone asked for a title we would ask if they wanted a cassette or a record. No mention of vinyl or LP.
