I've never been a member of an organized audio club. Do some or all of these organizations have membership dues? If so, how much, how often?
Just curious.

just be grateful that you have an Audio Club.
The San Diego Music and Audio Guild (SDMAG) does not collet dues. We do charge $5 per meeting to cover beverages, unless it is sponsored by a manufacturer or hosted by a dealer. Meeting locations vary, either at local manufacturer's facilities, at dealers, or member's homes. We have about 100 members and typically 20 to 40 will attend a given meeting so that creates space requirements.
Also, members may hold informal listening sessions with 3-6 attendees. At those attendees may bring their own "preferred beverage" but there are no fees.

I belong to a club. There are no fees. We meet at various members homes. Most people bring food or beer/wine to help out the host, but many show up empty handed. There is no requirement.
Members are also expected to host on occasion. This too is mixed.
In general clubs have fees usually to supply refreshments at meetings, especially when they are at member homes. That's true for the 2 clubs I belong to and I'll bet it's true for most clubs. But the fees are under $100 and usually well less than that.
The Arizona Audio Video Club has yearly dues of $48, which covers club activities including any space rental.
Unless the meetings take place at a home or in a shop there is the cost of a rented space to consider.
The Colorado Audio Society was $35 a year, and if you served as pres, vp, secretary or treasurer, your dues were waived permanently.JCarney
