Bay Area Audiophile Asylum...because we all met on AA, and started getting together in person. It started around the time that AA first started, and bunch of us thought it would be a good idea to meet in person after we all met on AA.
It is still active, and many of us have remained good friends. But there's not much traffic there these days. We are all still on AA, Facebook, AudioCircle, etc.
It was initially set up as a public group, then we started getting weird messages, so we had to make it a closed group.

Follow Ups:
Weird messages from AA members. That's hard to believe.
When we first set it up as an open group in YahooGroup, all sorts of people started joining. We were getting people from odd places, and started getting bunch of unwanted marketing/solicitation messages for all sorts of weird stuff. So we had to start removing them from the group, and eventually made it a closed group, and people have to ask to join.
