In 1988, former Journey lead singer began work on a solo album. For whatever reason, he did not complete it. Several songs from the late-80s did not make Perry's 1994 solo album, For The Love Of Strange Medicine . It wasn't until the very end of 1998, when the general public would get to hear some of those "lost" late-80s material, on Greatest Hits + Five Unreleased .One of those "Five Unreleased" was Perry's collaboration with Randy Goodrum, "Melody," which has been more popular with females, than middle-aged male audiophiles.
In spring 2000, I was dating TLS. We had dinner in San Francisco's Marina. In her black 2-door Honda Civic sedan, we went through the Presidio, Legion Of Honor, Land's End. As was common for this time of year, there wasn't any fog yet. And with DST, it was still bright, at 8:00p.
TLS had Greatest Hits + Five Unreleased , and she loved "Melody." She stopped, and we watched the yellow-orange sunset. It's one of those scenes/times you never forget.
On our next date, she drove down the San Mateo coast. When her CD came to "Melody," she pulled into a State beach. She got out to the beach, lifted her white shirt, let out a "Woooooooo," and flashed the ocean.
Okay, maybe "Melody" won't effect such reactions from your friends, but I just went by San Francisco's NW corner, which looked amazingly similar to that date 16 years ago. If you get tired of "Oh Sherrie," but still are wanting for Perry material, check out the simple and beautiful "Melody."

Great voice....I still enjoy his solo effort once in a while.
I wonder who arranged this song? Sounds like Toto backing him up. They played on a ton of recordings, as they were individually great studio cats.
Nice pic! Lummy
.
Which is to say me 2!

Let's hope the hours and seconds slow way down today ;). Let them speed up when work starts.
Looking forward to visiting the kid and his GF at college later today.
Hope you have a great day off.
BTW I've been exploring some electronic music and would enjoy some suggestions.
Check out Banat's postings at the Hip Pop section here, he knows his stuff ;)
