I must be living under a rock to have never heard this song before. There are other versions but I love love love the artwork on this one.
Shared with me just yesterday by my new best friend. Enjoy.

Follow Ups:
His muse in Montreal at that time in his life, Suzanne Verdal, was the subject of a poem Cohen penned, then later, as he evolved into music, an oft recorded song. I agree, the artwork Sue found is striking, and although I have most of Leonard's music and play it frequently, my fav version of this piece is by Neil Diamond. (Yes, I know, Neil Diamond).
The lush arrangement carries through my Meadowlark Blue Heron II's musically, and I would pick Diamond's version to play at my life celebration. Now, if only my wife's name was Suzanne...
Do not feel bad, Sue. There are many, many great songs that we have nt heard.
I'm not embarrassed to admit I started crying when I first heard Suzanne. Somehow I felt an instant connection to the music and lyrics. And I was listening on my computer system with one speaker out. Proves you don't have to have thousands invested in hifi to feel a connection to the music. But please don't let the secret out or they won't be sending me anymore components to review :-)

Both the 2-CD and the video are excellent.
The video is something that should be seen at least once, you then can appreciate the CDs imaging. He put together a first rate band for touring.
I saw him live a few years ago, a wonderful show. Considering that Leonard is in his mid to late 70s, he had great energy and a deeper voice. The only disappointment was that Bob Metzger was not with him, although the replacement was no slouch either.
I would place Cohen in with the top 10 songwriters of my era.
Most audiophiles know Leonard's songs, from Jennifer Warnes "Famous Blue Raincoat". A very fine album of Leonard's music released on Cypress Records in 1986.
A fun fact the Sumiko speaker set up guide uses a Leonard Cohen song sung by Jennifer Warnes, recorded on Rob Wasserman's "Duets" CD. The song is "Ballad Of The Runaway Horse". I got the opportunity to hear the limited addition K2 HD Mastering Japanese import CD of "Duets" on a pair of Vandersteen 5a with all Audio Research tube gear. It was so good, really impressive in every way.
I fully agree, I have the 2008 concert but not the DVD. There is an older live CD too, have you heard that one, very good, he was in top vocal form.
I think not many know of her....great voice...
Thanks....
Well, it's now Saturday morning, and the kids are preparing for their skating/hockey classes.
In the late 90s, the audiophiles missed the boat on this one. While the audiophiles were dithering, Lea Salonga's "Reflection," which appeared in the movie, Mulan , was an inspiration to girls (and lonely boys). It's where you put it all together, and come through/triumph. It's where you get that strikeout, nail that landing, break serve, make the putt for birdie, block that spike, swish that free throw, finish bowling with 5 strikes in row, perfect the butterfly stroke, and finish your first marathon.
What put "Reflection" over the top was when US Olympian Michelle Kwan skated to it. So now "Reflection" is played at ice rinks everywhere, and inspires not just elementary school girls, but everyone else, to skate better.
When audiophiles play "Reflection," and the system doesn't inspire, something is monumentally wrong .

Here ya go!
Oh thanks! I always wondered about that song.
