thats not easily done. The speaker sets are in two different rooms. I think the series wiring has to be done in a switching box near the amp.

I you have no B speakers connected and go to A & B, if it still makes sound they are in parallel, if the sound stops they are in series.
I do not recommend running speakers in series unless they are identical because it will change their frequency response based on their impedance curves. If you are that worried about it, maybe get two amps. Hopefully one has a pre out so you have one volume control. The other does not need a main in, AUX will do fine. If you do it that way you get a separate set of tone controls for the other speakers as well.
I'm going to use a simple DPDT switch so I can select either speaker set B or set B. That's real simple and eliminates any impedance changes.
