yes that's the one I have. I don't feel like it's lacking anything, we used to push this system during x Mas party and it has a great sound imo. I got new needle last year on ebay.

OK so if your goal is to make it more modern, something that leaps to mind is the ability to stream music, either from your computer or via your smartphone. You *may* have an extra set of input jacks on the back that would allow you to do that. I'd check that first. If you don't, you could use the inputs that the cassette deck is connected to now, assuming you don't play cassettes any more that is...
Yes, I don't own a home theater I'm not a huge movie fan. When I open the TV it's playing music video 50% of the time.
Then I have my PC that has a 5.1 setup whit Logitech speakers, The sound is good but very different.
And then I have the Stereo where I play all kind of music, jazz, classic, metal, old Rock, country, Waltz, and some more recent stuff like Daft Punk, Tori Amos, etc etc.
One of my idea was to rebuild an old PC I have and incorporate it in the Stereo.
But again that would be doubling the system I already have.
I guess I'm looking for something to merge all those thing together, Only option I can see would be a HDMI Home theater receiver, That would have about 50% of what I already have.
Sure, you could connect a PC as a source to your existing system, again assuming you have the source inputs on your receiver.
There are lots of options as far as music streaming. Personally I use a Squeezebox, but that is discontinued and there are lots of newer options out there that I'm not up on.
If that is the direction you want to go I'd suggest you ask in the PC Audio forum here. Those guys should be able to guide you.
