No, I haven't been to the show, but this piece is pretty good. BTW, the Richard Rogers theater is one of the largest Broadway houses, with 1,319 seats.

Meyer Sound Labs? Zones? Could be the Meyer Constellation system.
John Meyer taught me most of what I know about loudspeaker design and behavior. The guy knows his stuff. Back in '79 - '81, I made an attempt to sell some of his products (www.meyersound.com) into the local/area rock band market in Wisconsin. But there were two problems: They were expensive, and they weren't big enough. The rock band mentality was that a sound system had to be huge and impressive looking. Translation: Larger truck and higher fuel costs, but hey, a big stack of speakers looks cool, man.:)

I've never heard good amplified live sound.
What I found most interesting was this:
"Steinberg and his colleagues decided to run the whole system at a 96kHz sample rate (up from 48kHz), which results in extremely high-fidelity sound reproduction. "
Yea and verily!
