It was late on the second day of the sale when I saw these items in an open closet, I asked how much they were expecting to hear "those are not for sale" or "they are already sold" instead I heard "oh five dollars today". That is a Dual 1229 and a Kenwood 5150 tuner, the head phones have lost their badges so maybe some one can identify them for me, there is a tone and volume control on each side. Every thing has cleaned up nicely.

Rug is third rate Persian. Worth about $300 on a good day.

The tuner would be a Mac.
Look very similar to the old Koss ones. If it's a round label that's what they might be. Cuffies... meh wild guess.
REmind me a little of the ancient Motorola headphones I used as a camaraman back in 1987. We were still called camaramen back then.
dont REALLY look like koss but realistic might be it. dunno.

I had a pair of Koss Pro4/AA from the 1970's. They were heavy and made my ears sweat but they sounded nice!
Just curious but what do they call cameramen these days?

Ah, I should have known better. ;-)
WAG = Nova Model ?
...but kind of hard to tell.
I think the headphones are Realistic Nova's, sold by Radio Shack in the 70's.
anyway, that's what I'd set it up for.
Spin that Waits disc...
Nice scores!

Yeah I was kind of surprised to see it played 78's. The strobe does not work but I can use a disk or the platter speed app on my phone. I think I will set it up for Laura since it is automatic, I have a Girrard type A I want to set up for 78's and mono.

I'd just use it for 78's though and maybe set the Garrard up for mono.
OR (if you can switch out headshells with your main TT) have a mono cart
and make the Garrard a 78 dedicated TT. Then she can have the Dual.
Bigger difference/lots more work to go from 78 to 33 or 45 than to go from
mono to stereo.
I've always been happy just using the mono switch on my pre.

I had a Dual 1229 table way back in the day. I liked my Miracord 50H
better, though. And the Panasonic I had at the end when I sold all my
vinyl in favor of CDs was even better yet.
Can't help you with identifying the 'phones.
