Thank you, had never seen that before. I always stop by their room at RMAF, and it is always something of jaw-dropping experience.
I am the second owner (95% certain) of a mac 4100. I found it 2007 on a salvage store shelf, at eye level no less, for $29.99. NM condition.
Always served me well, and built like a tank.I can now mate an MCD7000 with it(given to me). Fabulous combination. I would easily put the sound quality against many 1K-2K players I have heard. I could not believe my ears from such a vintage player. Likewise, built to the same MAC standards, with a very stable transport and totally quiet in operation. PCB's in most CD players are not built like this.

thanks for that. I rarely watch these things through and I loved this!

Neat piece. I remember when Mac did testing clinics. Bring your amp, no matter the brand, and they would generate data paper on it's performance. Marantz did them as well.
The clinics were a pretty amazing sales tool. After hosting a couple clinics, the dealer would have binders full of results - Mac and non-Mac. When a customer asked why he should spend so much for Mac as compared to, say Dyna or Pioneer, all it took was a look at the clinic results and the Mac sale was closed. Almost all Mac gear met specs when it came in, and the contrast between that and other brands was stark.
While I worked for a hifi dealer, we did a clinic, which were always on Saturdays, and the Mac techs worked with ours through most of the night. We had dozens of pieces come through. One Mac amp needed a part we didn't have, so the factory shipped it air freight, we picked it up at the airport Sunday morning, and got the amp back to its owner, meeting specs.
Clinics were not only effective for getting new Mac owners, but they were good for getting Mac owners to trade up. They had already brought in their Mac amp/preamp, which is the nuisance part of a trade-in, so getting them to trade it for a new Mac piece was pretty easy. Shiny bright new meters and all that.

Really enjoyed that piece.
I have been a fan since I was a teenager in the early 70's.
Had a 7270 and sold it. Still kick myself for that especially after it was totally destroyed in shipping on the way to it's new owner.
Thanks UPS!
Very cool. Now I want to go and listen to McIntosh. The turntable is still whacky, but I am now a great big fan of Charlie Randall for saying that as long as he is steering the ship no manufacturing will go overseas.
Great video!

My first system was a McIntosh 1900 receiver with McIntosh MCII speakers. Brings back memories.
thanks for sharing that
