Shows that high end audio is alive and well.
Follow Ups:
when folks voice the opinion that:
1. High End audio is dead.
2. Only bald old guys (like me!) attend such shows.
I think most of those photos were shot before the show was open to the public, so you're seeing mostly industry people.
It's hard to tell whether the audio demographic is more diverse in Europe. The only audio shows I've attended outside of the US are Sydney and Montreal. Both had a broader range of ages than US shows, which really are are full of old guys.
so you're seeing mostly industry people.
There appear to be lots of millennials in the industry. :)
Yeah...female ones are hired to look pretty in front of the equipment and male millennials are the ground troops of PR and advertising agencies.
Yes "one millennial that posts here" we know you're different...STFU.
Hi-End is obviously not dead , the affordable middle Stuff is. Asia and more recently the ME has kept it alive for the last 25 yrs , regardless it's pretty much dead here in the USA.
BTW Hi-end was always expensive, entry level and midfi were mostly kits and DIY stuff, this changed when the Japanese started mass producing hi-fi gear, those days are now long gone but with affordable CLass-D and computer aided speaker kits, DIY is whats new again ..
