I loged in to Tidal on my desktop, and it worked, no problem. Then it hit me, must be something blocking the authentication on the tablet, but what??
The 360 antivirus I installed was the culprit. The moment I uninstalled it, Tidal works again.
The funny thing is, I had the same free 360 antivirus on the old tablet with no problems.
Maybe the new download added something. So I got rid of the free stuff and added my Webroot SecureAnywhere, which I had on my desktop and old laptop, and all is well again.
Lessen learned, stay away from the free stuff.
Thanks to all for the clues that helped.
AB.
