Am I mistaken or are there some real bargains out there that no one is snapping up?
Anyone else notice this?

Good trade Bullethead. If you can splurge try Green Dot Irish Whiskey.
By gosh, I wish I had the health to go back to them. Best times in life when I smoked them and in fun places.
I am 38 years old currently and it is now become a battle between statins and my heart racing from too much pipe tobacco smoking, too many cigars as well as too many cigarettes, add the anguish from a corporate job and I just might go on the Steve Jobs fruit diet that killed him because of the pesticides.
I don't drink hard liquor, it became a problem, nowadays as crazy as I get is some watered down beer and a pizza ;)
I know how my grave is dug, whether I want to go in there yet, it is a battle ;). Haha!
Good week to you sir,
I guess it could be worse for me, I never touch Bolivian marching powder. Nose is clean of shit as well as blow, head down and mouth closed as I carry on and on.
Hopefully the statin drugs will keep me well, my doctor friend in the white coat seems to think I will live to over 100 years old, don't know if I can deal with that, lol.
Seriously. No one should be on statin drugs at 38. No way.
It is great, and I do have my magnesium supplement tonight as well.
What a trip.
Bullethead-keep kool. We are going back to the 70's with all its lovely chaos and passsions. 1968 is coming soon.. You'll love it.The world is too screwed up to continue in ways of the last 35 years. Rebirth is coming with good music too. Corporates and governments will slosh into oblivion with their own deadly weight. No one even knows their job these days much less have the incompetence to do it.Just have to find a place where you can breath so you can get to the 100.THE SATIN DRUGS WILL KILL YOU. Some interesting and disturbing statistical correlations between satin drugs and dementia. We all know about the kidney stuff. Magnesium (malate-glycinate) is the new god head-it opens the nerves and arteries.Takes you to Beethoven. Bless you my friend.
Lol, a.k.a. HahaTerence McKenna called it the archaic revival. going back to the ways of our ancestors.
As the economy collapses and the broken society finally fizzles out, we will find a new Renaissance to get involved in.
I am already demented, statins are the least of my worries.
I can go on and ramble more too but it is not worth it, I am good thanks a lot ;).

"Shit" shouldn't really cost all that much anyway, should it? :)
I've sold items at a 90% discount, lightly used.
I would give them away with a message to general but then everyone here who chimes in would all be saying "me please"
I can imagine a post here, free stuff I am not using. Me Me, everyone looking to get a freebie and re-sell at their discretion, not really having a use for it.
If I can get $50 for a box of cigars that's good, something cost me $500 5 years ago, no one in the normal world knows what it is, why not? I always include shipping too. One requirement must be a user here and live in the USA.
Seems that a lot of overpriced stuff is STILL overpriced.
The bottom 0.5% of the top 1.0% must be mightily hurting!
I don't know about you, but everything I have posted for sale on Audiogon has sold within the first or second day. Never had a problem in 8 years of doing business there.
"No one sings me lullabyes
And no one makes me close my eyes
So I throw the windows wide
And call to you across the sky...."
Just a guess the stuff that is not selling is over priced.
You got that right. My stuff ALWAYS sells on Audiogon. But I don't have lofty expectations for what USED equipment should sell for. ;-)

Does anyone suppose that there's a tax-time connection? That is, get your W-2, start fiddling around with TurboTax, panic, etc.?
I used to buy and sell vintage drums and cymbals. January and April were the worst. Not that typical drummers and typical audiophiles necessarily overlap to any great degree.
January also tends to be a month where people are still recovering from their holiday shopping spree.
Are there any particular bargains you can highlight?I just sold an amp and speakers to raise cash for an upgrade. Both went reasonably quickly. It all depends on what you have to sell and how you price it. I see some people asking for 70% of MSRP or even higher, and of course it doesn't move.
There's also a glut of certain products for sale. Lots of KEF LS50s for example. And a lot of Magico S series lately due to the release of the Mk 2 models. And there's a perpetual glut of certain brands like McIntosh.

It's getting very hard to move those non-essentials.
What with the market looking a bit shaky, I suppose consumer confidence is a bit rattled. Enough to put off buying luxury items anyway.
