There's NOTHING like a See's chocolate.
Had (and made) some very fine chocolates
over the decades, but when you need a See's,
nothing else will do.
So, great bribery choice (obviously)!

Follow Ups:
in Buffalo, New York, there are chocolate shops in numerous places in the city where they used to actually make the chocolates in the front window. after eating THOSE, you would say that the See's were about half as good as the ones you could see being made.
as with lots of things, the level of quality may have diminished or disappeared as time has progressed. i visited a couple of years ago and tried the 'beef on weck' sandwiches which were a real delicacy there and they had deteriorated to an average beef sandwich that can be had anywhere.

in various exotic flavors, had fine handmade artisanal truffles and chocolates from
the finest purveyors in The San Francisco Bay Area and New Orleans... blah x 3...
There just ain't nothing like a See's, if that's what you want.
Still.

They have worked their way into our childhood memories, that absolutely overwhelmingly wonderful smell when you walk in, and Grandma See staring at you, like some benevolent old Big Sister of Sweets, with the motto:"Big Sister is Tempting You"
(Indeed, Julia and I would eat a box at the Chestnut Tree Cafe, whilst sipping Victory Gin. Ahhhhhhh, but that was way back in 1984, so long ago.....)

by some granddaughterly types around here.
The stores remain fragrant, spotless and some now feature eye candy to rival that in the display cases.
We know someone that works in the main office; See's gift certificates always seem to arrive at
the right time.

... are major contributors to the problem of female obesity.
Men who confuse women with candy will lose an awful lot of weight (and make themselves, and their women, a hole lot happier.)
Spelling pun very much intended..... :-)
to have eaten more than my share of see's, especially the maple fudge ones that are rectangular and not too large.

Those are DEEEEE-LISHUS! Love those.......
See's candies have a buttery quality that you don't find anywhere else. I used to make artisan truffles too, thousands actually.
