For Sale Ads |
65.32.156.93
I visit vintage "audio for sale" sites fairly regularly. Some of the comments, tactics, or just plain lunacy often makes me laugh out loud. I really liked this one:
From EBAY advertiser . . .
I was not able to test this unit myself because I have no Reel to Reel tapes to test. But the gentleman I bought this from said this works perfect...."EXCEPT THE RIGHT CHANNEL DOES NOT WORK"
Okay, let me get this right, the unit works perfect except the right channel doesn't work? Why put the words "works perfectly" in the ad at all.
It reminds me of a car ad that says car runs perfect but doesn't start!
Follow Ups:
Unfortunately, we are seeing rank amateurs selling their shit on eBay.
Additionally, we are seeing ads for gear that the seller has not tested, updated, upgraded? eBay has really sunk to very low levels compared to how it used to operate.
The best ebay ad was for the Mars lander that stopped communicating upon landing/crashing. No shipping, pickup only, as-is.
My favourite is "worked when put away", not to mention "I have no way of testing it"

the disc doesn't spin." Of course he told me to go pound sand after I pointed out working ones (that I wouldn't touch wit a 10ft pole) go for $15 at Goodwills and Craigslist all day long.
