A very sad month for rock 'n' roll!

I have yet to read anything on Don Felder's Web site offering condolences to the family of Glen Frey. If he is still harboring a grudge, or bad feelings - get over it! (A Eagles song)
I was never fortunate enough to have seen the Eagles. I was however, able to have seen Don Felder twice. Several times in those shows he referred to the Eagles as the "Seagulls", or the "Beagles", or "that band I used to be in". Memo to Don: Your getting old. It's time to forgive and let go of those bad feelings. Besides, comments like those make you look like a 65 year old child.

I attended the Eagles opened.
Yes, they opened for Procol Harum in Atlanta at a venue that was mainly used for professional wrestling. Can't remember the others but they were every bit as incongruous.
I "hated" the Eagles. Probably as much as The Dude hates the Eagles.
Just struck me as phony. Like WILCO, the new Eagles, they are good but there is something that just doesn't seem right.
Though I have to admit BOYS OF SUMMER is one of the greatest songs I have heard.
That in 1972 I heard the Eagles open for Van Morrison on his tour to support St. Dominic's Preview.

On a similar note, I saw the Eagles open for Procol Harum at DAR Constitution Hall in D.C. in 1972.

When I heard Procol Harum live in 1972, there was no opening act that I recalled.
On the other hand, in 1972 I also heard Yes open for... J. Geils.
And apparently (the concert was at the Brown ice rink), somebody got backstage and stole a guitar belonging to Yes.
Ouch.

...I don't get buying a ticket for the quintessential one hit wonder and Jukebox king Procul Harem or any of those 70's hair bands like Yes. They were all loud Gordon MacCraes with drummers.
And don't get me started on U-2, I'd rather listen to Murph and The Surftones.
...in 1972 I heard Yes open for the Allman Brothers.
...one of my first concerts was Jethro Tull, opening for Led Zepplin. Not a bad twin bill.
The universe is made of electrons, protons, neutrons, and morons.
. . . Pink Floyd were going to open for Moody Blues in Dallas, TX, but somebody stole their truck with all their gear. The Moodys were great, regardless, but Floyd didn't come back to town until '73 and the Dark Side tour. No opening act.
Those two on the same bill actually would have made sense, as a spacey prog show.
Anybody check Craigslist for all that stuff?

J. Geils.
Mostly from the bar I called home until AFTER their set.
Saw them headline a couple years later.
They were MUCH better!
"Once this was all Black Plasma and Imagination" -Michael McClure
U2's "Old Grey Whistle Test" appearance was... perhaps not a showing of what they would later become.

RIP. He was a class act.

Every generation throws its heroes up the pop charts.
Sad thing is, as they go, so go we.
Did he mean to say "vomits"?
In the past few years I've lost most of my friends and half my family.
One of my favorites....
These guys got me to appreciate country flavored rock. RIP...
Wow!
Sad indeed. First David Bowie, now Glen Frey.
Godspeed Glen - Take it easy.......

Who is gonna make it (in the long run)? R.I.P.
