Check this one out. Awhile back I was having trouble with the audiogon search features. I posted a question to see if anyone else was having similar problems. Audiogon refused to post my question, and here was their reason.
" Thank you for your recent submission to the Audiogon forums

QUESTION: agon glitch
DETAILS: Anyone else experiencing this? If I go to " browse " then tube amps, then click on " lowest to highest price " I get listings for records, and cd. It's been that way for a couple of days now. I tried it with 3 different browsers. "
Absolutely incredible audiogon! Must be afraid of looking bad I guess. To bad you can control the post over here huh?
Follow Ups:
it's automated nonsense. no human read your posting and no human responded.
hence, no common sense or semantic understanding of the posting, it is all text parsing...
Since my posting got scratched. All I can say is that you had better not get into an argument with anyone in "The Guild" @ AudioGon.
Tom:cat
really, when you get nonsensical emails, it is almost guaranteed to be a program! Not a human!
Programs are stupid, they can't understand natural language. Programmers are not much better. I should know, I have been programming for 20+ years.
They ARE a joke however, yet to become self aware of it.
Audiogon is the best recent example that I can think of
that had everything going for it and Foocked It Up.
That old saying about how to make a million $elling
audio gear?
Start with two million...
THAT'S Audiogon.

Why not be helpful and polite, and just alert them of the issue so they can fix the problem? Why is there a need to publicly ridicule them for making a mistake?
The best part is their mistake can be publicized here so everyone can weigh in and proclaim what a crappy website they run. Talk about mob mentality...sheesh.
Packed with goodies which are overpriced, populated by crooks, and just waiting to steal your cash. Was a member since 2000 with 150+ transaction and perfect feedback. Then the original owner pushed out by a greedy son, the rest is history. I stopped using it and never looked back.

It's their website and they can do whatever they want. It's a business and what they want is to make more money... no conspiracy, just business.
That forum is the joke and has been for years. Why even look at it.

That's the least of it really, they (Audiogon) routinely protect shills who heavily promote cables, offering back door deals on gear. And I know for a fact one of those shills was direct selling new gear for one manufacturer. Classic example, Audiolatrine's Tara Labs thread. I am not subject to moderation on any other threads, but Audiogon moderates mine, and several other members posts on that thread and routinely declines any posts suggesting shilling or back door selling. Sound like they have knowledge of what's going on? The big forums are grubby places at the hard face.

And AA regularly protects a scammer who sells fantasy items that don't do anything.

Thanks! for sharing- waterfall.
This is a textbook example of the amount of "censorship" that goes on in these forums. It is appalling, to state the very least. Clearly, our 1st Amendment rights are violated everyday.
Um, no.
Refusing to post his comment on their forum is not a violation of his free speech rights under the Constitution. The first amendment only applies to the government restricting speech, not a private individual (or corporate entity in this case).
Cerebrate!
The gov does not own all entities of communication via print, radio and/or visual arts (not yet anyway). Wake Up!
I wouldnt be so sure of that , :)
Anyway, stay away from A'gon , got ripped off by one over there with a 100% rating , many moons and deals on this planet prior and i have never seen a bigger schill , A'gon did nothing, I had to fight it all the way and eat the expenses ...
Ebay beats them hands down , yeah its that bad over there ....
But what about Naomi?
Cerebrate!
Besides. Shop here and avoid the issue altogether. :)
Tough to tell with him...

I don't think so.
Um, no.
Cerebrate!
Yeah, I realized later he was probably being serious.
...
Yeah, now it works. But back when i was trying to post it didn't work. I was sifting through my old junk mail and found the e-mail from audiogon letting me know my post was denied. I also remember when I attempted to post questions ( about audio gear I was interested in ) I would post 3 or 4 times before it got posted. Audiogon started out as a sell for free, post easily web site. Now they are a bunch of greedy control freaks.
It hasn't been free since I've been there and that's more than ten years.
I think it was when they changed hands a while back. I remember a bunch of posts lamenting the demise of audiogon.
