LWR...I know full well your feelings. My history is that after the initial smiles, I always find some flaw or other that disappoints. Just let it burn in for a couple of months ...time for your ears and your components to feel comfortable with each other. Then adjust ..move the speakers a bit, use resonance gizmos other the electronics, etc. if needed. Its just the fun of this nutty (and expensive) hobby. :)
Follow Ups:
The amp is all that will need burning in. Well, maybe the cables a little. The Maggies are burned in as they were floor models and the dealer did not like the acrylic base and offered them to me at a nice discount. Since they were in perfect shape I leaped at the deal!
I like that base as it makes sliding them around on a carpet a piece of cake.
The sound of the Maggies is totally different than monkey coffin speakers and I wanted a second system with that sound.
Listened to those speakers a few weeks ago. Very nice. Can't believe the selection he has there.
