The Big 3 - Newport, RMAF and AXPONA.Stereophile, Montreal shows are not what they used to be. London fading as well (blame Munich).

Thinking the Chester group ran those shows - then a few in NY, near the magazine. Mistake !

> Thinking the Chester group ran those shows - then a few in NY, near the magazine. Mistake!Yes, the final Stereophile show took place in New York in 2007. There is no connection
between the Chester Group's shows and Stereophile. Period.

It was in the early to mid 1990's just as I was being lured into 'high-end' audio by a co-worker friend. We both worked in Mountain View, CA (Silicon Valley) and he lived up in the city. The SF Stereophile show was awesome. I had never seen so many pieces of cool audio equipment and great sounding rooms.
Westin St. Frances.
Great show, IIRC.
that cuts the cellophane wrapper, from that SF Show!
Don't use it much anymore...
.
Sorry we missed it, especially if it was anything like the '03 Show in San Francisco!
A fantastic good time with an upbeat vibe we haven't experienced since.
Seeing EveAnna Manley getting off her Harley, parked on the sidewalk by the front doors of the Saint Francis Hotel was memorable.
Thanks for all you do.
> Sorry we missed it, especially if it was anything like the '03 Show in San Francisco! It was a great show. But following the sale of all Primedia's magazines, including Stereophile,
to Source Interlink, the new management decided that we should get out of the audio
show business.> Thanks for all you do.
You're welcome.

And I have the fondest memories of it. From hearing MBL speakers in a completely dark room, to Sony wall of SACD titles to Manley Lab demo with Joseph Audio speakers. All in New York city in May. Best time ever!
RMAF is the closet show for me that replicates that memory for me.
I just turned 22, was the annoying guy in the Paradigm room asking what sources they were using ;)
