Killer medley by one helluva guitar player.
Follow Ups:
at the Winfield Bluegrass fest for a few years in the early 2000s Tommy and Beppe played unofficial gigs in front of a few hundred crazed bluegrass fans.
These midnight shows went on for 2 hours or so, moonshine and grasshine were everywhere. Talk about relaxed, both artists seemed very informal and way more down home than they did earlier in the day's scheduled shows on main-stages. The banter, both verbal & musical was stunning...
Requests were happily played as was a zillion kinds of music...
This was the stage, not them on it.
It was at The Sydney Entertainment Center. TE was stunning. Clapton, not so much.
he can pull from that guitar. The man is truly amazing. Saw a show on PBS a couple of years ago - blew me away

Amazing indeed!
Happy Listening
Never heard of him before!

Fantastic.
enjoy,

I notice that he's (1) playing acoustic, and (2) "travis pickin'". Not
many guys do this, or even can do it. He's a monster.
Placed to pick up the best sound.
The mic obscures 90% of his right hand finger movements, which is, of course a huge part of enjoyment of watching.

That was the free version.... The video without the mic obstruction will cost you..... [-;
If I didn't see the video portion of the clip, I would have thought two guitarists were playing.....
kind of the Art Tatum of the guitar.
A friend took me to see him live a few years ago.
Wasn't familiar with him when I walked in and was KNOCKED out.
The really interesting thing is that I can listen to Tatum recordings (repeatedly) and
love them but the same just doesn't apply to Emmanuel.
Live he's tops, his videos are great, but his recordings leave me flat.
He's an amazing talent, personable and seems a great guy though.
Anyone ever gets the opportunity to hear him live, you shouldn't pass it up.

I saw him live from great seats a couple of years ago when he was in town. He was touring with Frank Vignola and the two of them played about a third of the show as a duet. That remains one of the most entertaining shows I've seen. He was also quite engaged with the audiance. Worth seeing.
Thanks! for sharing- Rick.
