So I visit the Audiogon "Flash Sale" and all I see are hundreds of left-over liquidation items from one Dealer. WTF?
Am I missing something here? Is an Audiogon "Flash Sale" just a way for Dealers to clear their basements and attics of undesirable goods? Perhaps for Dealers going out of business and shutting down?
Follow Ups:
It's similar to a flash flood. Try not to drink or swim in the water.
I thought it was misnamed, it should be called something else.
There sure weren't any extra discounts, and it looked to me like the auctions had just been listed.
Maybe because of the quantity of items, some starting well below retail, they can call it a "Flash Sale"
It is some dealer who is retiring. So here are the terms:
California buyers add 8.75% sales tax
All Sales Final, No Returns
I took a look at it. It's not even a sale, but a featured auction all focused on one dealer. Everything I saw had a reserve, including a pair of Grado headphones with no bidders, which may be due to the fact that the minimum starting bid is ABOVE retail. What a crock.
I looked too nothing but BS sales ploy that's all.
Grado did raise prices a little in March 2015 and as a dealer I know you can't advertise new product on the net for less than retail per their agreement. Here are the new prices. I don't know if they are what was listed on A'gon since I didn't look.

The required opening bid on the SR-80e headphones was $119, but maybe it was a mistake on their part.
I saw that too. Grado SR 80e for $20 OVER msrp.
I checked out the last one they had, and yeah, I'd say you nailed it. Not only that but the last one was mostly a bunch of mid-fi HT stuff.
