eBay + PayPal fees cost the seller between 13% and 14%.

becoming independent business', you can expect seller costs to go up.
Why else would they do that?
And I don't need or want any long winded, legalbabble answers to that
rhetorical question, the parties involved provide THAT on their sites.*

If you sell with any regularity, eBay will send you promotional offers on free listings.
However, things like subtitle, bold title, picture gallery, listing in more than one category, and eBay UK listings all add up, especially if your first listing does not sell and you re-list and incur those charges again.
That said, I have about 100 eBay sales behind me and I have never tried to get back eBay and PayPal fees, they are part of the cost of doing business. And I have 100% positive feedback on both my accounts. My attitude is that sellers who are all "Me! Me! Me!" create barriers to trust and keep their final prices lower.
I sold a Jeff Rowland preamp for a friend; I was hoping for about $1800 and it went for over $3000 because it was in very nice shape and a bit rare, and most of all the transaction was very straightforward.
FWIW & YMMV.
