... one can make at the thrift store counter. As an embarrassing purchase it ranks right up there with old "recycled" undergarments. Nobody wants a CD collection these days. The more you own, the dorkier you look. I should know because I own a lot of them.

I happen to value my CD collection, I'm constantly adding to it and I don't feel like a dork at all! I guess it all depends on the person...
I'm listening to: Steps by Pat Coil
Thetubeguy1954 (Tom Scata)
Central Florida Audio Society -- SETriodes Group -- Space Coast Audio Society
Full-range/Wide-range Drivers --- Front & Back-Loaded Horns --- High Sensitivity Speakers
If you don't feel like a dork with your big CD collection, all the better. Doesn't change the way others might view things, though...Do what you dig doing, forget about them.

my kids think that even having a hard drive with music is passé. If it's not streaming, they don't listen to it.
that people don't even own CD players nowadays!
I bet many don't know they can insert a CD into their Blu-ray player, but would they want to?
I bet they have cars with CD players, but then they would have to listen to two consecutive tracks by the same artist?
Glad I have a large rack to hold a bunch more of the silver discs.
The youngsters don't care to store or handle physical media, unless it's vinyl. Vinyl makes them look cool.
who want to look 'cool' to their kids. And, an adult with an LP is NOT cool even if a kid is 'cool' doing so. Actually, nothing we do can be cool to them. Maybe, jumping off of a ramp on a motorcycle would be cool, but that's about it.
Nothing impresses my 21-year-old.

Very few adults who have kids in the house bother to keep things like CD players any more. They are usually more than glad to free up space in the house by getting rid of their old CD collections.
