Well, I suppose if you use Wiki for information on persons it's acceptable!
They may be one of the silliest places to go for Technical information ! I honestly would prefer a "We really are unfamiliar with this !" than the common 'semi-correct' or 'incorrect' information that you receive.
They may need some higher standards on who they accept voluntary information from ! Or maybe they should say "At least we think it's this !"
Follow Ups:
The internet, wiki pages, social media and the like can be a scary place for some older folks. Maybe you should search out a community dial up BBS or better yet, dial-up AOL.... LOL.
I find wiki to be quite good on most technical topics.
I hear a lot about incorrect info on wiki but I have never found any myself.
Except info on actual living people. That I found to be frequently 'whitewashed' by the person themselves. One of our minor politicians has been recently caught out.
But whenever I double checked tech info on wiki it was always correct.
To all; I lost interest in my own posting several hrs ago,but feel free to
discuss the usefulness of these sites among yourselves to your heart's content !
(Or better yet take it over to FB so you can validate your own feelings about the site ; He,he he....)
