Face it, most of us are old-ish guys.
The hifi hobby as we know it was a postwar phenomenon, with a couple of peaks ca 1960 and probably ca. 1975. WWII ended in 1945, which by my estimate was roundabout 70 years ago. Even 1975 (approximately when I got sucked in) was... umm... 40 years ago.
all the best,

I concur- it has been a tough week. The better question is this;
how many were sick prior to passing on?
think about how many non-audiophiles died in the same period.
I can't count that high...

They are in their mid sixties with TWO little kids they are now caring for.
4 and 5 year olds. So my friends will be 80 years old when those kids hit age 20 or so. (the parents will never be involved)
I think my friends bit off way more than they can chew, and will die well before those kids reach maturity.
Just worn out.
Well, Fernando Lamas died of pancreatic cancer at age 67. So much for looking good.
I said "look good".

There was an old joke years ago about a young man who asked an elderly man for sage advice about living his life. The elderly gentlemen smiled and replied "don't get old".

Boomers are dying. The adult children of the boomers get yelled at for playing loud music in their parents basement and have switched to headphones. The kids don't have any money anyway, the socialist utopia removes the need for want or desire.
