I saw a new tube amp that sells for $1379.00 that said the following: "Lovingly hand-crafted with over 300 manhours"So even if the parts were only 379.00 (they are more)
the manufacturer (made in USA) lives on $2.50/hour............before expenses. I smell something.........

Maybe includes such things as drying time for the wood finish and metal finishes and running the amp in with music, etc.It could be the best sounding amp ever made but most audiophiles prefer high power and an expensive, recognizable brand names I am sorry to say.

Obviously written by someone who has no concept of how long 300 hours is. I built my own monoblock SS amps for the first time, including enclosures, and I don't think it took 100 hours, and I'm slow and don't have any really fancy tools.
If you want to start with mining the ore to make the metal and glass, then, yeah, I guess that all might come to 300 hours.
Peace,

The math works out to $3.33/hr. (I'm spotting him a buck cuz I'm a cool guy).....

Originally I was going to cost the parts out higher and leave $750 as gross poroft but then went conservative on parts cost. Getting old and forgetful. Not enough spicy Pakistani food.

Reading comprehension is not one of your strong suits. Therefore, I'm gonna type this very slowly for you...Could you please provide a link to the tube amp you referred to?

Funny I read that Slowly, and it made sense, I am not as drunk as some tinkle peep I am.
Thanks for the early morning chuckle!

I have no idea who this is but they might be following the old tradition of loss to gain interest and a following?
