I work for a long-term care facility in NE Pennsylvania. We are a 501(c)3 county affiliated nursing home. We are seeking to build a library of music (cd's) and movies (dvd's) for our residents to enjoy.Hoping that some asylum members would be willing to contribute.
Donations can be sent to:
Pleasant Valley Manor

Stroudsburg PA 18360Obviously as most of our residents are senior citizens, selections sent should be "age appropriate" please! :)
Hoping this campaign will generate some interest!

Thanks! for sharing.
'cause 30 years ago "age appropriate" was 30's/40's big band, pop vocals, Mantovani, Guy Lombardo, et al. -
the type of LPs thrift stores were stuffed with (and frequently still are).
Can the facility use CDs?

we had a turntable but it is no longer :( and THEN the activities staff divested themselves of ALL their old LPs (I think they *gasp* actually discarded them!!)you are dead on with the music type but on up thru classic rock of the 60's and early 70's ... this would target most of our demographic
edited my original post to include the word "cd's" for clarification
now if anyone wanted to donate a turntable we could also accept donations of lp's ... would have to be any easy to operate unit as most of the staff here is "technologically inept" unless it is an Apple product
thx!

I've been buying a lot of used duplicate CDs lately 'cause I haven't been able to pass up the
great titles at low prices. Was going to give them to friends, but I think they will be heading to
Stroudsburg PA in the very near future!
You're doing a great thing - keep up the good work!!

hopefully some others will do the same
with so many music lovers going to hard drive storage I am hoping a number of people are willing to give up the little silver disc
thank you again!!
Maybe worth adding to the library
I had never seen this article so thank you! we do have a Wii in our rehab dept for the physically interactive games like bowling
