Rod, I am getting strange things still.
1. In Windows the text pasted by you above from the posting I referred to previously now reads correctly.
2. Using Android the "O" with an umlaut is now substituted with an "A" with a tilde above. This is now followed by the paragraph symbol that appears in text markup in Word. This is occuring in the main General Asylum view. However if I view the posting via the thread printer it reads correctly.

You'd have to point me to the specific urls with those examples. The issue is that all of these character encoding vary. In the past, the defaults were ISO-8859-1 or latin1. But Macs and Windows have their own codes, WP-1252 for Windows and I don't recall for Macs. Most of the codes are the same, but some are different.
The real problem is trying to figure out what encoding you're getting and encoding it properly to UTF-8. I had to force latin1 translation to get the proper results for most cut and paste type problems. I suspect that the Android uses UTF-8 or UTF-16 causing a poor translation.
Anyway, give me the urls with the example and I'll see what we can do.

Rod,
I will have to enter the URL by hand as I cannot cut and paste into the URL link field with thisc version of Android. There is a copy facility but there seems not to be a corresponding paste
audioasylum.com/cgi/t.mpl?f=general&m=695044
I see what it is. Everything has to go through an encoding function to display properly. I haven't looked at the thread printer yet. It's fairly simple to do a quick fix though I've been wanting to update that code and make it more visually appealing.
