Great singer - have all her albums and now she's on vinyl I will have to speed my turntable purchase along. I usually like her versions more than the original.

Turntable purchase? Tell me more, if you don't mind.
I moved to Hong Kong from Canada and due to the frequency and voltage I had to sell my AN TT2/Arm3/IQ3 table. So I have basically started from scratch here and building another system. But I've started with computer audio/CD. So many seemingly good turntables but the price of entry is pretty darn high for the quality I want. I already have unopened LPs sitting around for ~2 years waiting. But I need a phono stage or a phono preamp.
Bah - my tastes exceed my bank account. AN M6 Phono Pre is what I want - hearing that today with the Empress Silver 2a3 monoblocks - kinda blew me away - I wasn't expecting that volume, bass resolution articulation from that tube - this is supposedly the gutless tube - jeez was I wrong.
A friend of mine offered me his entire jazz collection so I figured what better time to get back into vinyl. Thought maybe I might benefit from the results of your search for a turntable and phono pre. I have the same problem. My tastes always exceed my budget. Perhaps I just need to jump in and see what I come up with.
Well the jump in turntable might be something like this that Jack Roberts recently reviewed - at least it's kind of different than the usual suspects.
Generally though I don't find entry level turntables like those in the $500-$1k range to do it for me. At least not in a "this is better than digital" sort of manner.
