Of seeing Eva live at a club in downtown DC - truly an angelic voice. The DC area was blessed with an incredible pool of talent back in the late 60s thru late 70s - Roy Buchanan, Danny Gatton, Liz Meyer & Friends, Root Boy Slim, Little Feat, Happy The Man, the list goes on and on...

as a fellow DC person we saw all the same folk it seems. Root Boy was a close friend. A unique character that was an intelligent Yale grad under the party persona.

We were both blessed with growing up in one of the most vibrant musical cultures outside of San Fran. The very 1st rock concert I ever attended was Grin at the Cedar Lane Unitarian Church. Tix were $0.50!! Nils was 2 years ahead of me at Walter Johnson HS and I used to sneak out of English class to watch them practice in the gym.
Another group that practiced there was named Spencer and they were even better than Grin! Never did see them in concert, though. I also had the pleasure of seeing Jorma Kaukonen back before he joined the Airplane.
Man, what a great time it was to be a rocker!!!
