I have learned a lesson from previous equipment. If you get a package with a new electronic component and it is freezing, let the component sit for awhile and warm up to room temperature. This prevents condensation in the equipment and perhaps any damage or short circuits.

Same with acoustic or electronic musical instruments...
Principle in play? Don't leave your delicate instruments where you'd be uncomfortable without a coat (or conversely, without air conditioning).

Hey! I have a blog now: http://mancave-stereo.blogspot.com or "like" us at https://www.facebook.com/mancave.stereo

. . . we've been having days in the upper fifties and nights in the mid thirties to lower forties. Snowdrops are still around, crocuses are in full glory, and daffodils and irises are starting to bloom already. Freaky.
On the downside, we're looking at zero snowpack in the mountains and below-average rainfall, so the drought could get bad again this summer. The jet stream seems intent on sending most of our cold and wet stuff east of the Rockies.
*&%@#!!!!
I was in Toronto yesterday it was -4 F in th am.
Enjoy the DAC.
Today in Toronto running -17 C before wind chill factor.

I had to look that up to believe it ... it was all F for me as a kid but now it's like Chinese to me.
thursday am I got -30F on my car temp gauge

reelsmith's axiom: Its going to be used equipment when I sell it, so it may as well be used equipment when I buy it.
I was on the road at 6:ooam in Michigan. It was -18 degrees.
You are obviously a masochist ... so actually you love it! :-))
13 deg F is not a sensible temperature for a human being IMO! :-)) Polar bears, maybe!
Andy
... 13C is damn cold, nobody in their right mind would choose to live where the temperature gets to 13F and lower. d:o)
If one can't comfortably walk outside in shorts, a T-shirt and bare feet, it is too cold.
We are currently getting hit with the slops of a cyclone. It might be wet but it is still warm.
When I have new components delivered I need to wait until the climate control sufficiently cools the product down before I can hook them up :)
It's eight post meridian, time for an evening swim d:o)

Mate, don't you live on the same stretch of coastline that that surfer got hit recently by a great white?
Sharks feed at dawn and dusk ... so I suggest swimming / surfing in the sea between 8am and 6pm, in summer. That is not to say you won't get hit between those hours ... but going in the water outside them substantially increases your chance of getting hit.

Andy
... A Japanese surfer got both his legs bitten off whilst sitting on his board. His friends dragged him to the shore where he died within minutes from blood loss. I think it was about 10AM. However there had been significant rain and the water was murky as the beach is adjacent to the mouth of the Richmond River. Surfing near a break wall in murky water is foolish. A tragedy nonetheless.
I'd move your times out to 9 am and 5 pm (summer) and 4pm (winter) Though I must say the surf is littered with surfers from not long after first light on most days if the surf is running. (not this little black duck though)
We are all well aware of sharks, we occasionally see Bull sharks cruise up past Chez Sox. I prefer seeing dolphins cruise past, not damn sharks!
Oh, we do go to the surf but not in that particular area and not in those conditions. My evening swim is done in one of those fang-dangled seeeeeeeeeeee-ment pond thingies we have. I just got out it now as well :)
Still wet here, back to the theme of the thread, I like to warm up my DAC for about 30 mins to an hour. (the climate control keeps it cool)
I trust you & yours are all happy & healthy in the deep south of Mexico?
Cheers.

Because at last , work is well underway on our new house. :-)) October move-in date.
Unfortunately, we won't have any view of the ocean - which I envy you for. I would also love to be able to see sharks - and rays, and dolphins - from my windows. Diving with them is always a thrill. :-))

Andy
woke up to -8.
"It's all fun and games until someone doesn't pick up on the sarcasm"
Well here in Minnesota - not to brag - but it was -18 here this am. Last winter we had 54 days of below zero weather - this winter only 10 days so far - so it's all relative folks.. We also have very little snow - like 6 inches since Thanksgiving..very weird. 28 degrees tonight so it's balmy :)
