He had a Switchbosrd setup that would select (noiselessly!) any amp on his racks instantly
with a push button --
frankly the only Amp selectable one I've ever come across.
Sorry for the digression !
Good Luck

Wow, Mel. I drove from Portsmouth NH to his store several times to spend the day playing with some of the toys he had around. His switchboard started with a Switchcraft system as at the time it had the best of the best switches,.jacks and plugs made bar none. I used their watered toggle switches for years and still have a box in use that uses them. I made it in about '60.
He introduced me to some emerging companies that had not shown up in NE such as Audio Research and expanded my horizons immensely quite a bit and helped me get beyond the East Coast prejudice I had towards audio.

Haven't read Mel's name in a long time. I well recall being at his Jenkintown store over 4 decades ago and purchasing IMF Studio 2 speakers and an Audio Research Dual 50 D Mk1 amp from him.
