As a design/build contractor that installs systems for today's 21st century home. It's clear one has never experienced such putting it in simple terms of a coffee pot or a garage door. It is far, far more than that making ones living much more convenient, comfortable, energy efficient and simply smarter in every way. I'm not going to educate here however, CES isn't an old timers audiophile show true. However, it is still a very amazing, informative venue that inspires.

Our wisdom - however much is left - is based on our past life experiences. Some of us have opted out of the audio-visual-communication revolution in favor of a less stressful world where people do not depend on the newest technology to rescue them from their mistakes and madness.

But your point is taken. Still, passive systems are fine with me. However, technology that actively does things somehow feels coercive and rehearsed, reducing my sense of 'livingness'. But I'm sure I'm in a minority, and would happily live in a warm dry hut.With audio.
