Yeah, that's a nice thought, but it can get pretty muddled when you have a reactive load hanging at the output of an amplifier.
If you look at the devices inside the amplifier, it's nice to see devices that do as you speak in a local sense, but even that is asking a lot these days.

I am not saying that is an easy task ... but we must decide if it is an important goal to achieve or not
If this test is telling that is a good thing
You just need a SW signal generator and a very good mic at the speakers
The more distorted the SW the less accurate the system
That would be nice.
I guess that a very accurate system cannot sound that bad
Unless a bad recording is played-back through it of course.
But i am trivializing all the issue ... as usual.
