Do you want it to get there? Bite the bullet and go FedEx.
If you are traveling, take it with you, but the airline will likely charge close to that. Trans-Atlantic shipping is very expensive. You might want to contract an LTL freight forwarder to see if they have room on an intermodal shipping container, then you can spend weeks getting through customs.
The USPS has a 70 pound limit.

From the UK Government:
Your responsibilities
You may have to pay VAT, Customs Duty or Excise Duty on goods sent from outside the European Union (EU) before you can collect them.
You don’t pay VAT or Customs Duty when your things are sent back to you – they must be described as ‘personal belongings’ on the customs declaration.
You must also check that the sender:
pays Excise Duty on any alcohol or tobacco sent from the EU
declares goods correctly if they’re sent from outside the EU
Your goods may be seized if you don’t follow the rules. You may also be fined or prosecuted.

Thanks for the detailed discouragement :)
The prices were just for shipping. Its really not even worth the effort, I am selling a vintage Kenwood Model 600 on Ebay, Someone in the UK wants it and I would like to let him have it, but I never thought shipping would be so much.
Ebay told the guy shipping would be $193, so I guess they got that from the post office. I have no idea, I only listed it as $65 for local shipping.
My problem with the post office is it reaching in one piece. Those postal workers just does not look like they could lift 60 lbs.
The box measurement is within the spec, 23"x23"x12" so maybe I will go ask them.

The customs tariff is either 4 or 5 %. VAT is added at 20%.
The shipper will also charge for doing the customs/VAT paperwork. It is usually a fixed fee irrespective of the value of the item. Add another < $100.
However YOU don't pay this but the buyer. I have often bought from the USA. The shipper turns up with a bill for me with their charge and the duty/VAT.
I assume you are adding the actual shipping cost to the base price that the purchaser paid for the item? It is up to him/her if they want to accept this or forego the item. It shouldn't be your responsibility.
Yes, the shipping would be separate. The post office just gave me a price of $215 for priority mail. The only thing is, there is no tracking, but their tracking usually sucks anyway.
So its up to the buyer now, he has not even made a actual offer yet, so I will see if he REALLY wants it.
