Saw Eric Johnson and Mike Stern at the Birchmere last night. It made for a great anniversary celebration.

Yup. That's my phone ringing, no question. Or, as my wife puts it, the "Guitar God" ring tone.
One of my favorite venues.
Food's not terrible, either :-p

Nice! I got the new release "Live - Europe" and he certainly 'still has it'. Amazing, and I enjoy his 'intros', etc. as much as the rest of his stuff.
Altho, it is jaw-droppingly amazing to see/hear what variations he comes up with on/during the familiar tunes. Seemingly always musical and innovative ... little blindingly-fast melodic phrases just seem to jump out of his mind unfettered by physical parameters or limitations.
last time I saw Eric was at the Mann in Philly, great memories. Thanks for sharing.

To me, he is the musician's equivalent of an audiophile. I once read (in guitar player magazine, IIRC), that he claimed he could actually HEAR the difference between a Duracell and Energizer battery in his fuzzface pedal.
That is a testament to golden ears in my books!
