I don't avoid purchasing products that are made in China as a matter of course, but I prefer to buy products made elsewhere when I can.i am not a China basher, but I am concerned about human rights abuses in the PRC, and about their treatment of laborers, and about their quality control and about their lack of respect for intellectual property rights.
All of these problems may change and I hope they do, but I don't see it yet.
I do not see any of the problems as inherent to the Chinese people. Much of this could have been said about Korea or Japan, or the U.S. or Western Europe for that matter, depending on how far back one goes.
I also am not worried about the USA or Europe being buried by China at the end of the day. But I do want to see American manufacturing supported, and I would like to see fewer innovative technologies licensed away to countries that do not enforce IP protection. That's just common sense and it does not only apply to China.
So, while some inmates may be frothing at the mouth or xenophobic or ignorant, as I read this thread I see those sentiments shared by a few but clearly not by all or even most.
And the loudest mouth-foamer is Sudz, but he is here for no reason other than to poke fun and stir up shit and bring out people's worst side.
My 2 cents in any event, respectfully. :-)

... My post was my opinion in answer to a question.
Obviously my comments apply to a few on this site but not to the vast majority.
I have concerns about China, Russia, Israel, Indonesia, Iran, North Korea, my own country and your country.... plus most every other country in some way or another.
However I have no inherent fear or hatred towards any country or the people of said country.
I too try to buy goods which are made in Australia where possible, but as a bit of a spend-a-holic, I will buy goods from any country on a whim. (Even the USofA, fancy that?) I even talk on the phone to American lawyers. Who says I'm picky? :)
Sudz is an ignorant moron but those of us who respond to him are silly for doing so ... but such is life and in the scheme of things it doesn't really matter, does it? (except maybe stifle more rational type discussions, which is a shame)

And don't be fooled, he was not actually claiming to "not understand the whole China bashing". He was stirring the pot with a veil of "coming to the rescue"
Its truely what he lives for, he is the definition of an internet troll.
Or send me a picture by email maybe? I'm kind of a watch guy, though admittedly not a member of the very high end club.
And I agree with your response. It's a big and, for the most part, beautiful world out there and each country and culture has made it's contributions.
