...But the joint is full of negativity so it's nothing new.
I've never used the Logitech offerings and although most folks I knew were happy with it, especially the price, I knew a couple who got poor results with Logitech but great results from Sonos. So I went the Sonos path many years ago.
I have Sonos hooked into 5 systems throughout the house and my family and I are very pleased with it. I use the ZP90 (connect) in four systems and the ZP120 (connect amp) in one system. We all have iPads and control the music independently as we see fit.
I find if a good DAC is used then the results are quite good.

Touch offers on screen control
Touch offers 24/96 and 24/192 playback capability
Touch offers USB output to external DAC (via free plugin)
Touch offers ability to replace cheap switching power supply with linear
Sonos is a nice product. And if you use their wireless speaker offerings, they have unique capabilities.
Customers have been requesting hi-res file support since the beginning, and Sonos still have no plans to add it in the future.
What's worse, there is open hostility towards the idea on their forums. A few of their moderators are Hydrogen Audio types, which doesn't help. If you ask for hi-res support or they think you might be an audiophile, expect to be smacked down with insults, xiph.org links, and DBT discussion.
Fortunately, Sonos isn't the only game in town anymore for multi-zone / whole house audio streaming.
Yeah I realize the Logitech offers higher resolution than Sonos but I had concerns if it would drop out over the long distances which is what two chaps I know had a problem with and hence I went with Sonos.
I have not compared Logitech & Sonos side by side so I can't comment.
Specs are specs but ultimately if it sounds good to the individual then it is good for the individual.
From the ZP90 I connect to the DAC using Toslink.
I am not anal about audio specs. If I had bought Logitech, at a fraction of the price, but encountered drop-outs and stops like a couple of guys I knew did then it would have been a waste. I will never know now :)
I'm happy with Sonos as I am happy with my audio systems wich is really all that matters.
YMMV.

I'm not comparing *specs*. I'm comparing capabilities. Now that I have accumulated a decent sized hi-rez library, I certainly want to continue to be able to play them. :)

If your network is incapable of providing sufficient throughput, the choice of device is moot. As for me, I use wired Ethernet for upstairs and use a wired "N" bridge for the garage. I experience zero drop outs with the higher bandwidth requirements of 24/96 vs. 16/44.
... Own that many hi-rez titles, but I understand what your position is now.
I own quite a lot of redbook titles and was my main focus.

Other than updates or radio, which I don't use but the kids do, my network has little to do with Sonos. Sonos itself links between my music library and my systems.
Cheers.
