Here's a list of some, I assume new, British singers. I found the list interesting, but as if more often the case these days, the offering are only digital, and I refuse to download music...my loss, I suppose. I would buy some of these albums if they were available. In any case, some of you may find an artist here that you like.
Follow Ups:
Jools Holland has his work cut out for him.
He sure does.
On the same topic, one of my favorites is Katie Melua. And I don't believe she uses autotune; she's one of the best female singers I've heard.

It seems only one poster is bothered by auto-tune and what someone else likes should be of little concern to you. Thanks for the list - I went through the first eleven so far. Some nice talent. Kate Miller is still in her teens and it's pretty sophisticated pop and it would be nice to hear what she does next. I liked Oliva Broadfield as well and she seems to have a lot of hits on youtube nearing 100,000 so she's not as small as some of the others, but I actually liked all 11 on some level. I would like to listen to 5-6 tracks from each.
Here's another

who simply leaves me speechless....All of her albums are amazing...
Great guitar playing as well...

Just ordered one of her CDs. Thanks.
all...you will be happy!!
Are you freaking KIDDING ME? She is amazing. As you said guitar player too.
Wholly crap.
and immediately bought her catalog and her new one just out and it is good too. She writes this stuff, amazing for a lass that young.
Fire & Fortune is my fav, but all are simply stunning.
She was picked as Newcomer Folk artist of the Year by BBC this year.
A dram or two of Scotch and their tunes, nothing better...
Brother LWR..I'm a big Bandcamp fan..I spend hundreds there a year..I am all over this! Feel free share to more.
alot at the Rock Asylum. Some resent that it is not Rock & Roll, but it rocks me and that counts AFAIAC.
You are in for a treat when you get her stuff....
Resent? Funny concept to resent talent..oh well...$$$ well spent here.
is this series that I buy every year. This leads to many great new artists and is where I found Josienne.
Cheaper from Amazon UK and usually 3 CDs a set, sometimes just 2, but cheap and well done.
Amongst the singers on that linked page, the only ones that impressed me were Eva Stone and Beth Rowley..... I was also impressed with John Gomm's guitar work (but not his singing).
(All 34 singers on that page use Auto-Tune. All 34. Stone and Rowley had minimal application of it, and I think they don't need it.)
The frustrating part is about half the tracks showed promise with the intros, but things went downhill when the singing started.
AutoTune? Care to tell us how you came up with that?
"AutoTune? Care to tell us how you came up with that?"
Quite obvious, actually. Like recognizing a trumpet or a saxophone. The voice "locks" on the notes. I just find the effect extremely annoying. Even in small quantities.
I think you may be over estimating your powers of perception here. While AutoTune certainly is used in studios...it is not always.
Every audiophile overestimates his\her powers of perception, it is the sine qua non.
"Every audiophile overestimates his\her powers of perception, it is the sine qua non."
I won't even argue whether this is true.... In a lot of cases, it is true... BUT.........
There have been too many audio designers and music producers who believe because of that, they can get away with audio components of lesser quality and/or recordings with added processing, believing the consumers wouldn't be able to tell the difference.
Heck.... Why are producers remastering Frank Sinatra classics with Auto-Tune? Because they believe nobody will notice. But a lot of people *do* notice... And this chicanery in design and music production wreaks to High Heaven.
I am personally getting sick of these "overblown audiophile perception" claims.... Because I believe they are lame excuses to give compromised audio designs and overprocessed recordings a pass. I'll go as far as to say it's a major reason why music and audio have been on the decline. And will continue to decline.
Two links below.... Same Frank Sinatra song.... One has Auto-Tune applied, the other does not. Would easily pass an ABX test for anyone familiar with the effects of the processing. The only other thing I'll say is I smile while listen to one track, cringe while listening to the other.

I don't find you to have any credibility.
Care to provide documentation that autotune was applied? Are you claiming it was applied during remastering? Because that would require a remix.
I really think you are pulling things out of the air.
"I don't find you to have any credibility."
With your attitude, I don't really care.....
"Care to provide documentation that autotune was applied? Are you claiming it was applied during remastering? Because that would require a remix."
Of course.... Do you think "remasters" are identical recordings to prior releases? If so, why even have "remasters"?
"I really think you are pulling things out of the air."
Believe what you want.... It's there, and I'm willing to put my real name behind it. I'm willing to conduct an ABX test in a controlled environment. And I'm willing to face a mob who refuses to listen for it.
I really don't think you know what you are talking about.
Applying autotune would require a remix from the mult-tracks.
"Do you think "remasters" are identical recordings to prior releases?"
I don't fully understand your question above. What do you mean by "identical recordings"?
I have no real idea how Auto-tune works, but it does democratize the occupation of singer! Now one does not need to actually learn how to sing, but it does help provide for a bevy of pretty girls to entertain us with us with their songs.
All kidding aside, I really have no idea what it sounds like. Could it be a case of "if a little is good, then a lot has to be better"? Could it not be used simply as a touch-up to save certain takes where the singer was off?
I don't listen to that much current popular singing so I am not exposed to the ravages of this device.
Been listening to Blind Alfred Reed lately, so I suppose I am safe!
No kidding.
"I think you may be over estimating your powers of perception here."
This shouldn't be about "my perception"..... Makes me want to bang my head against the wall.... The masses are being duped. This is so obvious to me, I'm kind of dumbfounded over why it isn't obvious to a lot of other people. It's not just perceiving it, but I react to it like it's poison. (About half the clips in the link I stopped five or fewer seconds after the singing started. That's how obvious it is to me.)
"While AutoTune certainly is used in studios...it is not always."
You're correct.... Not always..... But......
95% of all Top 40 songs have been Auto-Tuned.— True Facts! (@VerusFacts) October 8, 2014
These are mostly independent, self produced, self recorded artists. You are off the mark.
What about Katie Doherty?
I have the album and really enjoy it.
Here is the link.
