Comments on Marantz CD 6005 vs. Cambridge Audio 651C.

I can't speak to the Cambridge Audio but I recently bought and using the Marantz 6005. I find it a very nice addition to my system and a significant step up from a much older Denon that I had been using. The included DAC is nice as well and brings depth and detail to IPOD input.

I'm late with this post but for whatever it is worth I purchased a Marantz 6005 several months ago and have been delighted with its sound in my Stingray based system. It replaced a Rotel CD 975 that I thought was pretty good for its age but decided to retire it when the tray's loading gears broke a second time. For the past five years I have listened almost exclusively to vinyl and will probably continue to do so. However, it nice to have a CD player that produces a smooth, relaxed sound that this old vinyl fan can enjoy. If you have a chance to audition one, I would encourage you to do so...you may be surprised at how good a fairly inexpensive player can sound.
Good luck...

One final post and I will close this out. I was curious as to whether the price difference of $250 would be worth going with the Cambridge 651C?

Thank You! Bob.
I really liked the Cambridge 650 BD player. A nice universal that did blu-ray as well. Let me know which way you decide. BTW, I am in Prattville.
Where is your location?
Every Cambridge Audio product I have ever purchased right from since the original Co, started in the 70,s has had to be returned for a refund. I see from a review of their latest amplifier that the spec quotes a damp ing factor of 150 measured at I kHz should be measured at 40Hz.. The Marantz CD94 from 1988 is still going well.

Bob-
both players are excellent and priced right. It will be a matter of taste.
