"you seem to be overlooking the main reason he was there"
He was there for two reasons 1.To listen to headphones and report on his blog about the headphones he couldn't listen to anywhere else, especially the online stores where he usually buys his headphones . and 2. buy headphones. Really?? Hmmm.
I'd be very curious as to where he bought those $10k worth of headphones. Mostly online?
"in such a way that Stereo Exchange would get some free, exclusive publicity"
I suspect that attitude is exactly what was conveyed... that he was in fact doing them a favor. Why cant these troglodytes understand what a huge service I am doing for them?
Marketing opportunity"
They have no control what he is going to say. He might just as well go online and dog them. Oh wait... he DID go online and dog them.

No, to LISTEN to some headphones that he MIGHT buy. Jeezuz, can't you comprehend simple English?

Quite likely, yes given that the number of brick and mortars that sell high end headphones I can probably count on one hand. Stereo Exchange only very recently opened up their "Headphone Lounge."

Yes, after they treated him like shit and kicked him out of their store.
No, they wouldn't have any control over what he might write, but is that any reason to treat everyone like a sworn enemy and give them ample reason to write unkind things about you?
"EVERYONE"? You know this? You are trying to promote this idea (for whatever reason), but what proof do you have that they've ever treated anyone (except maybe this one guy) in a bad or discourteous way? And I'm talking about what might be considered trustworthy "proof" in an instance like this, such as the testimony or corroborations of several people?
You are simply taking this guys word for everything, you have never visited the place yourself, you have never personally met or talked to anyone there. For all you now the guy you're defending has made up the entire story.
Well?

You misunderstand. If they're not to take him at his word as you suggest, then they can't very well take anyone else at their word. So it would follow that everyone be treated with the same suspicion and hostility.
No, it does not follow. This is you following YOU, that's all. Why should we make such an assumption? And why are YOU so interested in promoting this idea?Actually, you don't *know* any of this to be true, that much is obvious. Does anyone (except for Marco and the merchant) really *know* anything about this thing? No they do not.
It seems as if you've chosen to defend someone who you don't really know just because he's a member of the club that you've sworn allegiance to. You accuse someone whom you've never personally met, for reasons I don't even want to fathom. You show no real discretion, you don't bother to think things through because you'd rather jump to conclusions, and you promote possibilities instead of facts. Maliciousness defined.
