E-Stat, what did ya get? Do tell.
I did the same thing about a month back. Bought, not new, but the latest version of the CAT SL1 and was really digging exactly what you said until one of the high-voltage trannys on my Acoustat servos decided to short itself and die. Danged thing gave up the ghost after only 35 years of service. Good news is I am going to get it repaired tomorrow and hopefully can get back to enjoying those redefined boundaries again very soon.

which also allowed me to run balanced cables between it and DAC and power amps. They aren't as stiff as the previous JPS Labs cables, so I guess I can lose the risers. :)
Good luck on your repair! I suspect you're already in withdrawal.

Either ditch them or get a whole lot more of 'em. There's much to like about bendable cables.
I just remounted my Nottingham 294 arm and armed it with a new Dynavector XX2MkII cartridge after a year being without the arm. That combination makes particularly sweet music together.
